Gods Amazing Grace in Romans Quotes by Desmond Ford
God's Amazing Grace
The Ultimate Purpose of God’s Amazing Grace
Gods amazing grace. We sing that song so many times that I think we forget to focus in on what it is teaching. The man that wrote this song seems to have a good understanding of just how amazing Gods grace really is. Without the grace of God no one can be saved. So the morning we are going to explore God amazing Grace. In every letter that Paul writes excluding the book of Hebrews he always says something similar to Grace and peace be with you in both the beginning and the end of his letters. Grace is a word that Paul used often.
This is a fundamental question for those who believe in Christ Jesus, but one for which an answer does not come readily. We talk of sports people and performing artists who are graceful. Indeed we describe many things in terms of their grace or lack of grace: graceful, disgrace, graceless, gracious, etc. But in truth none of these truly describe the free grace of God, and in fact they cloud and disguise it so effectively one can only think this is a deliberate cover-up by the enemy. Furthermore it is not a gift that anyone on earth has a right to as no-one is deserving of the free grace of God, yet He gives it to us freely in abundance.
If some wealthy stranger raised walked up to you and gave you a million dollars what would you do? Why did this man do this for me? Something much more wonderful than giving us a million dollars. He has rescued us from hell. He has raised us up from spiritual death and has given us new life in Christ and a new and royal status in the heavenly places. And we were not merely strangers to him, we were His enemies, rebels against God, disobedient, defiled, walking according the course of this evil world and doomed for hell. But God in His rich mercy loved me and sent His very own eternally begotten Son to die for me.
Grace, which comes from the Greek New Testament word charis , is God's unmerited favor. It is kindness from God that we don't deserve. There is nothing we have done, nor can ever do to earn this favor.

Grace is the undeserved love and favor of God
For the Christian, this definition forms the foundation of our faith and this concept separates Christianity for every other religion. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians , emphasis added.
