Allah knows but you do not know. Verily, it is Allah Who knows about that which the servant does not know, and in this context the following issues must be noted:. Nothing is more beneficial for him than abiding by the judgments of Allah, even if it is difficult for him at the beginning, because all its outcomes are good, delightful, and pleasurable.

More important, do we know what it means for us? The word orginated in the Hindu culture, which believes in reincarnation and the idea that the good and bad deeds of your former lives were what determined your good or bad fortune in the present life. The Quran makes it clear that we will be rewarded for our good deeds and punished for our sins, but not necessarily in our earthly life. Allah holds us responsible for our evil deeds and remembers our righteous acts, smiling favourably on them. The righteous will earn blessings in this life but infinitely more in the hereafter. And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open. The slaves of Allah do not, as do certain religious sects, seek out suffering as a form of spiritual discipline.

Perhaps, then, even if you are averse to it, you will find much good in fighting, as a result of victory, booty, martyrdom or reward; while, if you were to reject fighting, even if you would like to do so, you will find much evil, because then you may be subjugated, impoverished and denied the reward; God knows, what is good for you, and you know, this, not, so strive in what He commands you.
