The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) by Deborah Harkness

The #1 New York Times bestselling series finale and sequel to A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night

Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present—facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches—with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency.

Review: The Book of Life (#3, All Souls Trilogy) by Deborah Harkness

But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. Hopefully before the month is up I can get you a post regarding my thoughts on the TV adaptation of this series. Ugh… and yet I think the series as a whole is pretty amazing. While I disagree with a lot of other reviewers I do agree that this book has a lot of flaws. Okay, I was set on five stars right and then I read several other reviews with two stars that made some pretty valid points in terms of unanswered questions.

I liked it overall I am pretty sure , but I am going to apologize in advance because this review will most likely end up being a disorganized collection of my thoughts on this book and series, but after finishing it, I don't think I can write it any other way. First off, I would definitely recommend reading a wiki page about Book 2 in the trilogy before starting the third book. Let me explain - I star. Let me explain - I started the first few pages and found myself asking "What? The wiki definitely helped me remember a lot of the second book and it came back to me slowly as I read the third, but there were still times throughout the book that I could not remember events or characters for the first two no joke, I still have no idea who one of the godparents is??? I generally like to read books in a series back-to-back if at all possible, but I am not sure if that would have worked for me in this case.

"The Book of Life" Synopsis

Thank you!, If Matthew and Diana hope to defeat Benjamin they must rely on their comrades and some past enemies to do it.

All opinions expressed are my own. I receive no compensation for reviews. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago. Admittedly, I began this book with a great deal of trepidation. And this last book heightens all the feelings and intensifies all the conflicts they face as their adventure culminates in a gut wrenching, nail-biting, emotionally fraught ending.

Reading is one of many passions Victoria has. She is always one of the first people her friends ask when in need of a good book! This is a review on the third novel in the "All Souls Trilogy" by Deborah Harkness if you have not read the first book, " A Discovery of Witches " or the second " Shadow of Night " please click on the titles listed to be taken to my previous reviews on each novel. It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. Its the one that is most adaptable to change. Diana and Matthew have now returned home from Elizabethan London to continue on the warpath that they left behind, but now things have become more urgent.
