The Encore: A Memoir in Three Acts by Charity Tillemann-DickThe remarkable true story of acclaimed opera singer Charity Tillemann-Dick, who received not one but two double lung transplants and went from struggling to draw a single breath to singing at the most prestigious venues in the world.
Charity Tillemann-Dick was a vivacious young American soprano studying at the celebrated Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest when she received devastating news: her lungs were failing, her heart was three and a half sizes too big, and she would die within five years. Inexplicably, despite her fatal pulmonary condition, she could still sing. Medical experts advised Charity to abandon her musical dreams, but if her time was running out, she wanted to spend it doing what she loved.
In just three years, she endured two double lung transplants. Teetering between life and death, she slowly learned to breathe, walk, talk, eat, and sing again. With new lungs and fierce determination, she eventually fell in love, rebuilt her career, and reclaimed her life. Over a decade after her diagnosis, she has a chart-topping album, performs around the globe, and is a leading voice for organ donation.
Weaving Charity’s extraordinary tale of triumph with those of operas greatest heroines, The Encore illuminates the indomitable human spirit. Its the story of confronting devastating challenges with love: the intimate love of a mother for her daughter, a man for a woman, a doctor for her craft, and a singer for her music. Ultimately, grace from God and strangers enabled the work of love to save one young womans breath and allowed her to reclaim her life.
When I was in high school, I played the board game encore. Because youth love music and listen to all kinds, this game has the potential to engage everyone and not to many games can do that. I have played it for years and never purchased it until today. Divide your group up into teams of people. This game is best played with no more than 4 groups and 40 people.

What's with the ads? It's played with two teams; an "emcee" type person draws a card with a word on it - "flower", "red" or "like" are some that I remember playing. One team begins by singing or reciting a lyric from a song including the word they must have 8 words for the lyric to count.
My brothers and I, and now my wife and I, routinely try to stump each other with lyrical trivia. Any music lover would like Encore Endless Games, This is the kind of party game that nobody really wants to start playing — who wants to show off their own tone-deafness, after all? The game very simply requires each team to identify and sing lyrics from a song, at least six words in length, that include one target word that is drawn randomly from the deck. Teams alternate on the same word until one team fails to come up with an original answer, at which point the other team wins the right to move closer to the end. There is a newer version of Encore out first picture , but we played the older version pic number 2 , and because the old tunes are still around, it was still full of relevant words.
