Gangs II by Ross Kemp

Simply put do you like reading about gangs? If the answer is YES then I think this book is worth picking up because youre given an up close and personal interaction with different gangs from all over the world with Ross Kemp leading the way!

Personally, I found this book to be just as good as the first one and was happy to see another book had been published. The way Kemp writes allows you to picture the dark, dangerous grittiness of different gangs and how they work as a collective. While we mostly associate gangs with badness in the world...What IF that was the only world you knew? What if that was the world you were born into. Yes, sometimes it does come down to choice if you join a gang but for some of these people it seems like its their only hope of ever having some type of life.

Over the course of four hard-hitting Sky seasons, shaven-headed Ross Kemp has reported on gang culture from across the world. Kemp has talked face to face, or face to neckerchief, with gang members. He's also earned their trust with his permanent expression of mildly terrified curiosity, his hairlessness and for looking like he could probably get away with saying he was once in the SAS. He's witnessed their social circumstances, joined them in their initiation rituals, and found out just what it is that makes them tick. Now, Sky1 have announced that the hard-looking man who was never in Spandau Ballet — that cannot be emphasised enough - has signed up for two more years , with a view to producing 12 more hard-hitting documentaries from various gangster hotspots around the globe. But having been practically everywhere already, is the supply of destinations drying up? Will he have to look up some of the gangsters whose trust he earned back in series one?

  1. But immigration, particularly from the EU, is high on the electoral agenda, with most parties trying to give the impression of firmly putting their foot down on new arrivals, but without appearing, well, frankly racist.
