Why Chrissy Teigan Loved Working with Meghan Markle on ‘Deal or No Deal’
Check out the surprising connection that Chrissy Teigen and Meghan Markle share! Well before her incarnation as a genius of the kitchen, serving up dishes like pad Thai carbonara and chicken pot pie soup, Chrissy Teigen was a well-known model, with a wide variety of high-profile jobs. One of her gigs was modeling briefcases to illustrate fabulous prizes on the popular TV show Deal or No Deal, from Meghan Markle was a fellow briefcase model during the season, well before she started acting on the TV show Suits , that would become her ticket to stardom. While Teigen and Markle were only co-stars for a brief time, and Teigen ended up leaving the show shortly after the first season, the future duchess made quite the impression on the outspoken Teigen. During an interview with Andy Cohen, Teigen revealed that she has only words of praise for Markle.
The amount a contestant wins is determined by pure luck — cash amounts are randomly allocated to each of the boxes before each game, with contestants required to open a specific number of boxes per round of the game to eliminate the cash amounts their chosen box does not contain, in turn affecting how much is offered by the Banker. Games always end with the player opening all of the boxes, including their own, regardless of how they intend to make money. Throughout its broadcast, the programme was regularly aired daily — for its first eight series, the show was aired six days a week for a year, with breaks in production between July and August — with a number of episodes given special themes to coincide with national holidays such as Christmas and Halloween — such special editions included special features and prizes, and sometimes an increase in cash amounts on offer. In addition, the show also showcased a series of special celebrity editions, including a special 10th anniversary edition on 18 September in which Edmonds' played the game himself. On 19 August , Channel 4 axed Deal or No Deal after thirteen series, ending the game show with a special "Deal or No Deal Tour" series across the United Kingdom, with the programme officially concluding after 11 years on 23 December The game is played using 22 sealed red boxes, each with an identifying number from 1 to 22 displayed on the front.
Between testing Chrissy's knowledge of her husband's career with a "You Don't Know Jack About John" quiz which lead to more than a little embarrassment for the model , Ellen also got her talking about her pregnancy. Chrissy revealed when her second child, a son, is due and the way she and John came up with older sis Luna's name. The social media queen also talked about that time she shared a screen with soon-to-be-royal Meghan Markle on Deal or No Deal. This was a very information-packed interview. For the latter, you have to rewind all the way back to about , when the world was a different place: no one had any inkling that there would be a "President" before Trump's name, nor were we aware that a very nascent Twitter would soon explode into a cultural force. Of course, a world without Chrissy on Twitter seems barely imaginable anymore, but there was one place you could find her: on Deal or No Deal —with Meghan.
