Margaret Ford discovered her interest in cake decorating at catering college in Aberdeen. She began to design original and innovative equipment and, about ten years ago, with her husband David, created the Celcakes specialist range of products for cake decorators. Margaret has travelled extensively in the UK and overseas demonstrating her skills. Since writing books 1 and 2 Nicholas Lodge has continued to travel around the world, teaching and demonstrating sugarcraft. This Tokyo based school and retail operation serves as the centre for Nicholas's Pacific Rim operations.

He is best known for creating botanically correct gum paste flowers. Lodge was born in Essex , England. He decorated his first cake at the age of ten, for his parents' wedding anniversary.
