The Burning Maze (The Trials of Apollo, #3) by Rick Riordan

The formerly glorious god Apollo, cast down to earth in punishment by Zeus, is now an awkward mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos. In order to regain his place on Mount Olympus, Lester must restore five Oracles that have gone dark. But he has to achieve this impossible task without having any godly powers and while being duty-bound to a confounding young daughter of Demeter named Meg. Thanks a lot, Dad.

With the help of some demigod friends, Lester managed to survive his first two trials, one at Camp Half-Blood, and one in Indianapolis, where Meg received the Dark Prophecy. The words she uttered while seated on the Throne of Memory revealed that an evil triumvirate of Roman emperors plans to attack Camp Jupiter. While Leo flies ahead on Festus to warn the Roman camp, Lester and Meg must go through the Labyrinth to find the third emperor—and an Oracle who speaks in word puzzles—somewhere in the American Southwest. There is one glimmer of hope in the gloom-filled prophecy: The cloven guide alone the way does know. They will have a satyr companion, and Meg knows just who to call upon. . . .

Poseidon Boss Fight (God of War 3 Remastered) 1080p 60FPS

Loosely based on Greek mythology , the game is set in ancient Greece with vengeance as its central motif. The player controls the protagonist and former God of War Kratos , after his betrayal at the hands of his father Zeus , King of the Olympian gods. The gameplay is similar to previous installments, focusing on combo-based combat with the player's main weapon—the Blades of Exile—and secondary weapons acquired during the game. It uses quick time events , where the player acts in a timed sequence to defeat strong enemies and bosses. The player can use up to four magical attacks and a power-enhancing ability as alternative combat options, and the game features puzzles and platforming elements. Compared with previous installments, God of War III offers a revamped magic system, more enemies, new camera angles, and downloadable content. God of War III was critically acclaimed upon release, with a reviewer from IGN stating that it redefines the word "scale" in video games.

The characters of the God of War video game franchise belong to a fictional universe loosely based on Greek mythology and Norse mythology. A number of original characters have also been created to supplement storylines. The overall story arc focuses on the series' only playable single-player character, the protagonist Kratos , a Spartan warrior haunted by visions of himself accidentally killing his wife and child. The character finally avenges his family by killing his former master and manipulator, Ares , the God of War. Although Kratos becomes the new God of War, he is still plagued by nightmares and is eventually betrayed by Zeus , the King of the Olympian Gods—revealed by the goddess Athena to be Kratos' father.

Deimos was the younger brother of Kratos. He was abducted by Ares during his childhood to avert a prophecy about the destruction of Mount Olympus. After he came of age in the Domain of Death, Deimos was fueled by hatred for the brother who had failed to save him from his torment. After Deimos was rescued by Kratos, and still held initial resentment toward him, he ultimately reconciled with his brother and joined forces with him to battle Thanatos only to be killed by the Death God. That was not unavenged, however, as Kratos killed Thanatos shortly after. His death was the final straw which lead to Kratos snapping at the gods and vowing to kill them. He was the son of Ares and Aphrodite.
