A Court of Thorns and Roses Summary & Study Guide

I absolutely loved it to bits! Keep reading to find out why! About the book. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world. As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it. It does have some adult content.

O kay… deep breath and pray no-one kills me for this… I have a confession. I have never ever read a Sarah J Maas book! That might not sound so bad, but the thing is, I have actually met her she is super nice and lovely and have all of her books! When I heard Maas was bringing out a modern fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast — my favourite Disney story of all time — I knew that the time was now and I had to read this book! I was super grateful when I was accidentally sold it in a book shop a month before its release, and I also received one from the Guardian to read and review!

This novel is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which is why I was so interested in it in the first place because I love reading different, modern versions of classics. A Court of Thorns and Roses follows the story of Feyre who is a huntress and how her life changes when she is impisoned in the kingdom of her enemy, much to her shock and despair. Firstly I would like to talk about the characters. And also, Feyre is a capable and independant individual, yet not as extreme as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, which is another thing I really loved about this book. The fact that Feyre is also timid and innocent but not a complete damsel in distress. She sort of represents what a normal teen girl is like.

Official synopsis. When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous.

A Court of Thorns and Roses audiobook (Chapter 1 till 10)

Plugged In exists to shine a light on the world of popular entertainment while giving you and your family the essential tools you need to understand, navigate and impact the culture in which we live. Through reviews, articles and discussions, we want to spark intellectual thought, spiritual growth and a desire to follow the command of Colossians "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Just today I was reading Psalm 37 and thinking about how your ministry provides ways to 'dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Plugged In has become a significant compass for our family. All three of our kids are dedicated to their walk with Christ but they still encounter challenges. Thanks for all of your research and persistence in helping us navigate through stormy waters. It is her favorite movie and she wanted to show it in class.
