This is a big mistake. Paul is not exhorting us to get angry, as if this is anger were a good motivator or energy for positive action. The context of Ephesians is exactly the opposite! It gives the devil a foothold in your life. It grieves the Holy Spirit. It harms you and others. The consistent counsel in Scripture about anger is to be careful with it and to set it aside.

King James Version (KJV)

Ephesians ,32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: …. Exodus And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger. Exodus ,22 And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? Deuteronomy At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee. Don't let the sun go down on your anger, Contemporary English Version Don't get so angry that you sin.
