Canada Day

This week, Canadians all over the country are stocking up on beer and barbecue supplies in preparation for their annual Canada Day Celebrations. Each year, July 1st is celebrated with outdoor public events all over the country such as picnics, barbeques, musical concerts, festivals, shows and fireworks. There are so many great things to explore in Canada and in Vancouver this summer! Happy Canada Day! In her free time you can find her in the mountains, on her bike or exploring new culinary spots and coffee shops of the city.

The small fish is so fatty that it can be dried, strung on a wick and burned like a candle! The Narcisse Snake Dens in Manitoba have more snakes in a concentrated area than anywhere else in the world. Tens of thousands of red-sided garter snakes gather there every year. On the other hand, there are no snakes on the island of Newfoundland.

Much like renewing wedding vows, many Canadians opt to use the July 1st holiday to reaffirm their love for our country. More of a tradition than a legal requirement, this is the date when many one-year fixed term leases end in the province. Since thousands of Quebecois still honour the tradition, moving day services have to be reserved up to six months in advance.

Many people are drawn to Canada because it offers everything from urban spaces, to snow-capped wilderness, to cities that seem to be something right out of ancient Europe. Canada has extensive forests, coastal towns and much more making up its landscape., Canadian people do not celebrate Independence Day on July 4th with Americans. They celebrate on July 1st and the national holiday is known as Canada Day.
