My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Sunset Shimmers Time to Shine by Perdita Finn

Obviously, Im not the main audience for this chapter book, but this was not nearly as enjoyable as the other My Little Pony books Ive read. My advice is to stick with the comic collections (although the other chapter book Ive read, Discord and the Ponyville Players, wasnt so bad).

My complaints about this book are as follows:

1. The premise is absurd and full of scientific mumbo jumbo: There is a mechanism to the magic that I am trying to unlock and reveal so that, if we need to, we can adjust the control settings and create an enhanced pony-up experience. This means that Sunset Shimmer -- a top student of magic and spell-making in Equestria -- is busy doing ridiculous things like measuring the size and shape of cracked eggs, creating an app to find invisible colors, etc.

2. The writing was sloppy, for example kittens and PUPPIES MEOWING softly (!!!). The ending also made Twilight Sparkles reply sound ominous.

3. The characters didnt act like themselves. For example, Sunset Shimmer came off like a drama queen, and it only took a little performance monitoring to turn Rainbow Dash into a clutz.

4. It had no illustrations (whereas Discord and the Pony Players at least had simple illustrations).

Sunset Shimmer in A Fine Line. The fact that her backstory seems like a show plot" and responded "Nope. In early April , Ishi Rudell stated that Sunset Shimmer's phoenix -like appearance at the end of My Past is Not Today was a visual metaphor [5] [6] and that "her hair is lighter We wanted to tone her color intensity down a bit with the design of her new outfit. Perhaps one day it will be revealed. In Forgotten Friendship , as a pony, Sunset was given a slight redesign so that her mane slightly resembles her hair, and her horn is slightly longer. Princess Celestia reveals that Sunset was a former student of hers who began her studies not long before Twilight did.

Sunset Shimmer was once one of Princess Celestia's most promising students, but her thirst for power and prestige concerned Celestia and created a rift between them. Feeling she wasn't getting what she wanted with Celestia, Sunset fled Equestria through a magic mirror that led her to another dimension: the human world. Still craving power and dominance in Equestria, she returned to steal the Element of Magic from Twilight, intending to turn the residents of her school into brainwashed minions to invade Equestria and take it over. Twilight follows her, foils Sunset's plan, and takes back her crown. Defeated and humiliated before the school, Sunset is humbled and begs for forgiveness. Sunset became the Breakout Character of the Equestria Girls franchise, eventually taking over The Protagonist role for the series when Twilight was Put on a Bus and mostly written out to keep Equestria Girls self-contained.
