Band of Brothers: E Company, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne from Normandy to Hitlers Eagles Nest by Stephen E. Ambrose

As good a rifle company as any, Easy Company, 506th Airborne Division, US Army, kept getting tough assignments--responsible for everything from parachuting into France early DDay morning to the capture of Hitlers Eagles Nest at Berchtesgaden. In Band of Brothers, Ambrose tells of the men in this brave unit who fought, went hungry, froze & died, a company that took 150% casualties & considered the Purple Heart a badge of office. Drawing on hours of interviews with survivors as well as the soldiers journals & letters, Stephen Ambrose recounts the stories, often in the mens own words, of these American heroes.

Veterans in Normandy with Beyond Band of Brothers Tours

My husband and I and our two children adored our stay in this stunning property. The house has been refurbished to the highest standard, with modern kitchen and bathroom, yet maintains the original charm.

We had a chat with Tansy, the proud owner of The Band of Brothers House in Normandy.

Children Infants We caught up with Tansy to hear about their four properties - one special one in particular, The Band of Brothers House. We live at the country house site, where our small farm is home to our Llamas, Alpacas and other creatures, and no more than 10 minutes from the other 2 properties. We speak French and English, and live here all-year-round so we are on hand to help in any emergency! My husband and I offer a full concierge service from car hire to restaurant bookings. We have in-depth local knowledge so our guests can ask us for tips and advice on the hidden gems in the area.

I came across this property through a Facebook Group and was looking for a rental home to take my parents to so that my father could visit all of the beaches and military museums and landmarks in Normandy. We were a party of five, me Well - what can I say! We do actually try to offer this service to everyone that stays, but not everyone tells us that they appreciate it A very warm welcome from the lovely hosts, who couldn't have been more helpful.

For me it is the answer to my dreams as I had over 15 years in the Hotel and Catering Industry, trained as a Hotel Manager The house has the most wonderful feel, - years old it has a huge history, right opposite the beautiful Sainte Marie du Mont church, the 1st village liberated in France, next door to good restaurants, in the heart of the D Day Invasion Beaches it really was not a difficult decision to buy it. It really is a very special house and location! We have travelled extensively in the past plus when we do get the chance to go away I have my tick list We have put everything we can possibly think of in all our houses, as we both have extensively travelled we understand what is needed especially if you have just done a long haul flight! A chauffeur can meet you in the arrivals hall to take you to the station or your hotel, we can have a driver waiting for you as you alight the train to take you to the car hire if you want someone to bring you all the way that can be organised too.
