Have You Filled A Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids by Carol McCloudHave You Filled Your Bucket Today? is a book about feelings and making the right choices. This book is a simple guide for children to share and learn good thoughts and good feelings. The book uses an invisible bucket, that everyone has, to help illustrate how to fill your bucket and how you would feel with your bucket full. In contrast, it speaks of a bucket dipper and how that feels when you become a bucket dipper. For example, the author writes, A bucket dipper says or does mean things that make others feel bad. Carol McCloud does an excellent job of illustrating through pictures with vivid colors and allows any age group to benefit from the moral of the book. She also uses repetition throughout the book, giving the reader an ability to learn how to read. When I read this book, I enjoyed the pictures relating to the story. I appreciated the diversity of the book as well. It was truly a Guide to Daily Happiness for kids. As a teacher, I would read this book on the first day of school to help children understand that we all have feelings and we need to treat everyone with the same respect we would want from them. It would allow for a lot of engagement and activities throughout the school year that would help advance children in their values of themselves and one another.
Season's Greetings from Saturday Night Live
It gets replayed every year when "Saturday Night Live" trots out their Christmas special, but Jimmy Fallon added a little girl power into this classic holiday skit with Ariana Grande. Tracy just jogs in place and Chris holds the keyboard, where Jimmy controls the percussion, while Horatio brings it home on vocals and guitar. If you've seen the original sketch, we can confidently say that Ariana's presence only enhances the original intent of the piece, adding a feminine energy that it lacked. In a way, it could be argued that she turned this already-classic Christmas track into an all-inclusive song that embraces everyone this holiday season. Also remarkable is just how incredible all four guys looked.
It's no secret that Ariana Grande loves Christmas — after all, this is a singer who has released two separate holiday albums — so it's no surprise that she would wish it was Christmas today. And in order to help everyone else feel the holiday spirit, Grande and Jimmy Fallon recreated an iconic Saturday Night Live sketch on a recent episode of The Tonight Show , specifically for the Christmas season. Fallon, meanwhile, played the keyboard which Kattan held up for him throughout the number and backed up Sanz on vocals. And while it might seem odd to have one of the biggest pop stars in the world neither sing nor dance during a musical performance, Grande's stone-faced bopping was a perfect fit for the group's infamously off-key holiday number. Fallon, Sanz, Kattan and Morgan first performed "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" back in , and the foursome's adorable inability to sing on key or play on beat made the song an instant classic.
Guys, that was 18 years ago. That means the fellas were overdue for a reunion. For anyone in on the joke, the sole real singer among the bunch did exactly as much heavy-lifting as you might think. And remember the old times below. Here are the best sketches of the season so far, ranked from great to best.
